Reconstruction is a performance that takes the notion of image as its starting point, and plays with our mental representations.

The performance takes the form of a series of visual and sound projections and choreographed gestures, disturbing perception through manipulations of volume and scale, disappearances, hallucinations and magic tricks. This collection produces a composite form in which matter moves as fast as meaning, and in which building, transforming and destroying would have the same meaning. A certain taste for montage and association by analogy disguises the performance as an investigation. But there's no justification for investigation other than the desire to investigate.

Reconstruction is a graduation project presented at La Balsamine theater (Brussels), thanks to the support of the ISAC section (Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Brussels).

Reconstruction est une performance qui prend pour point de départ la notion d’image, et qui s’amuse à déjouer nos représentations mentales.

La performance se présente comme une suite de projections visuelles et sonores, de gestes chorégraphiés, qui trouble la perception par des manipulations de volumes et d’échelles, des disparitions, des hallucinations, un tour de magie. Cette accumulation produit une forme composite ou la matière se déplace aussi vite que le sens, et dans laquelle construire, transformer et détruire auraient la même signification. Un certain goût pour le montage et l’association par analogie déguisent la performance en enquête. Mais rien ne justifie l’enquête sinon l’envie de chercher même.

Reconstruction est un projet de fin d’études présenté à La Balsamine, grâce au soutien de la section ISAC (Institut supérieur des arts et des chorégraphies, Académie royale des Beaux Arts de Bruxelles).
