The creative residency and associated exhibition La Dent Creuse brought together 15 artists for 13 days on two barges moored on either side of the Brussels canal.
Marion Menan and Kathi Seebeck decided to start their research when they arrived on the boat on the first day of the residency, convinced that the form is always emerging, and not given in advance.
Very quickly, they wanted to make visible the imperceptible but perpetual movement of the floating workspace.
The pendulum-objects they hung are looking for their center, always new, and thus seem to embody the way the artists work together for the first time: a certain comfort in instability, a taste for research always in motion, a continuous modulation that occurs in the activity of creating forms
La résidence de création et l’exposition associée La Dent Creuse a rassemblé 15 artistes pendant 13 jours sur deux péniches amarrées de l’un et l’autre côté du canal de Bruxelles.
Marion Menan et Kathi Seebeck ont décidé de commencer leurs recherches en arrivant sur le bateau le premier jour de la résidence, convaincues que la forme est toujours en émergence, et non pas donnée par avance.
Très vite, elles ont voulu rendre visible le mouvement imperceptible et pourtant perpétuel de l’espace de travail flottant.
Les objets-pendules qu’elles ont suspendus cherchent leur centre,
toujours nouveau, et semblent ainsi incarner leur manière de travailler ensemble pour la première fois : un certain confort dans l’instabilité, un goût pour la recherche toujours en mouvement, une modulation continue qui se produit dans l’activité de création des formes
