Around is an immersive video installation that features a projection of images onto a sphere with an irregular surface and variable dimensions, adjusting to the place where it is presented.
This video projection is the only source of light.
In the dark, the light of the images and the floating object meet and merge, to confuse our ability to discern.
The sphere is no longer just a projection surface but seems to embody, give shape to, and even generate the projected images.
Between contemplation and presumptions, the spectator finds clues, elabo- rates hypotheses, seeks to see beyond appearances, transgresses the limit between physical reality and immateriality.
Around est une installation vidéo immersive qui met en scène une projection d’images sur une sphère à la surface irrégulière et aux dimensions variables, s’ajustant au lieu où elle est présentée.
Cette projection vidéo est l’unique source de lumière.
Dans le noir, la lumière des images et l’objet flottant se rencontrent, fusionnent et se confondent,pour troubler notre capacité de discernement. La sphère n’est plus seulement une surface de projection mais semble incarner, donner forme, voire générer les images projetées.
Entre contemplation et présomptions, le spectateur trouve des indices, élabore des hypothèses, cherche à voir au delà des apparences, transgresse la limite entre réalité physique et immatérialité.
